Playing the game with decent speakers or headphones can give you an aural advantage. Listen carefully for the sound of enemies spawning behind you to avoid being taken by surprise.

When confronted with an onslaught of enemies in one location, there's a good chance that there is a Spawner nearby. Your first priority, therefore, should be to locate and destroy the Spawner to stem the tide.

After entering an room filled with a multitude of different enemies, endeavour to take out the missile-throwers first to reduce the number of attacks that can be made at once, and then use your melee weapon to wipe out the Headless at close range in order to preserve your precious ammo.
